"Peak Comfort Club: Maintenance Made Effortless!"
April 24, 2025

We went out to St. Peters, MO today conduct our Peak Comfort Club. We went out for routine system maintenance. When the Technician found capacitors dead in both units. Technician replaced capacitors and cleaned units he attempted to test units and noticed smaller unit not coming on. The Technician found only 1 leg of line power going to unit. Tried reset breaker, and compressor would not start. He then attempted a hard start to no resolve. Then he tested leads on compressor and found unit is grounded out and will need to be replaced.
Getting your HVAC system checked twice a year—once before the cooling season and once before the heating season—is essential for keeping it running efficiently and reliably. These seasonal inspections help identify small issues before they turn into expensive problems, such as refrigerant leaks, worn-out parts, or airflow restrictions. When your system is cleaned, tuned, and calibrated regularly, it runs more efficiently, which reduces energy usage and keeps your utility bills in check. Plus, biannual check-ups can extend the life of your equipment, helping you avoid premature replacements and costly repairs down the line.
Regular checks also ensure your home stays safe and comfortable year-round. In the summer, your air conditioner keeps you cool, while your furnace or heat pump works hard in the winter—both depend on properly functioning components. A twice-yearly inspection helps maintain indoor air quality by ensuring filters, ducts, and coils are clean and operating properly. It also gives your HVAC professional a chance to check for carbon monoxide leaks or electrical hazards, which can pose serious safety risks. Simply put, scheduling HVAC check-ups twice a year keeps your system healthy, your home comfortable, and your mind at ease.
